“Dor Cross Inn is an older motel on Washington Island. Cabin was cozy and clean, and updated as much as possible. Owners Cory and Laura are welcoming and attentive hosts. Instead of just tolerating my dog they treated her as a valued guest. Which I truly appreciate.”

“We rented e-bikes from Island Rentals for the day, and it was an absolutely perfect experience! Corey was our point of contact, and he was AMAZING. Before we even got to the island, he gave us helpful tips on how to get on the ferry quickly and told us where the best bathrooms were. When we arrived, Corey was already there waiting for us, opening the shuttle doors so we could head straight to the rental place. Once we got our bikes, Corey gave us a detailed map and suggested the best route to make sure we saw everything we wanted, plus some extra points of interest we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. He also took the time to explain how to operate the bikes safely, so we felt confident before heading out. The entire experience was smooth, fun, and stress-free. I highly recommend Island Rentals.”

“We have absolutely loved our Dor Cros Inn cabin (home base) on Washington Island! The rooms are simple, clean, and stocked with the essentials. But my favorite aspect of this getaway are the little surprises around the property… a fire pit all set up for us to strike a match, Cabin 9 — an honor system happy hour spot complete with great old 70s rock n roll playing, a clothes line for our beach excursions, and Island Rides bike rentals right on property. Also, the location is ideal. We were right at the intersection of major roads, walkable to great coffee, burgers and even popcorn! Finally, Cory and Laura and just good, kind, friendly folks. If (when!) we get to come back, we will absolutely stay at Dor Cros Inn again. Thanks, Cory and Laura!”

“Dor Cros is a wonderful place to anchor your visit to Washington Island! Our cabin was neat, clean, and adorable. We rented bikes and hit all of the Islands celebrated spots. Walking distance to many businesses and restaurants. Wonderful hosts. We met our neighbor at the outdoor fire and roasted marshmallows over getting acquainted. A great place to stay and play on the Island.”

We were immediately welcomed and were treated like family from the start. Once settled in our meticulously clean cabin, it was time to relax where we enjoyed a cold beverage on the premises at “Cabin 9” an outdoor patio area with music and seating overlooking an inviting fire pit for later. Need a bike? Island Rides Bicycle rentals are conveniently located on site. Laura and Cory go out of their way to share all the island has to offer and the best bike routes for any fitness level. “We have a family home on the island and always drive by this place thinking it was so cute, so when a rental calendar mistake had us on the island with no place to call home for the evening, we got online and quickly saw that they had Very affordable options. We were so grateful and had a lovely stay all the basics we needed for the night.”

Cory was very helpful with how to use the bikes and made us both feel very comfortable with them before letting us loose. He also had a lot of great suggestions to stop at on the island.
